mechanical brake booster pump failure. Has been inspected by ford dealerships twice and also with a third party certified mechanic. The vehicle has a tough time stopping upon ignition and brake has to be pumped hard. Ford claims 2021 was the last service date on this but still there a reserve records that show that its not resolved but no recall is out for this. The below was sent to me, It is difficult for me to understand why I was not told the recall expired in 2016 when I made the appointment (6-6-23) and when I handed my property over (6-12-23) to this dealership. Thank you for the diagnostic, it was very helpful, but, I still run the danger of crashing due to my breaks not pressing down when the pump goes out and the option to get FORD to fix it expired in 2016, My VIN is registered and I did not get a notice, I would gladly give this shop the $$ to fix the 2016 recall that expired. Now, that business will go to your competitor. If you were not aware of the expiration, I get that, but, you are a shop specifically designed for my Ford, again, thank you for the diagnostic but the way it was done I can't trust this shop or get other females to come there. Keep Jeff, do not run him off, his soul and manners feel safe and trusting, he treated me very well and I know he did what he was told to do by whoever was in charge. There is no need to contact me moving forward, but, this very email will be submitted to all the proper authorities (NHTSA.GOV, FTC.GOV, FORD.COM) when I hold FORD and others accountable. I work very hard for the life I have grown accustomed to. The vehicle was being driven with the cruise control set. Upon approaching an intersection on a four lane divided roadway I tapped the brakes to deactivate the cruise control. When pressure was applied to the brake pedal the cruise control did not disengage but the vehicle accelerated instead. I released pressure to the brake pedal and the vehicle continued at the cruise control set speed. I again applied pressure to the brake pedal and the vehicle again accelerated. To avoid striking stopped traffic I moved into the right turn lane with the vehicle continuing to accelerate as I attempted to brake the vehicle. Upon entering the intersection my vehicle struck another pickup truck broadside. I believe speed at the point of impact was 60 plus miles per hour. My vehicle then continued on and struck two utility poles. Both vehicles were damaged beyond repair. There appears to be a problem with the speed control system as it would not disengage but caused the vehicle to accelerate. Googling the same problem with other Ford F-150's I found several reports of the exact problem. I ordered the vehicle new and it was maintained by the Ford dealership. There were no known problems. Mileage is 31,900. At this time the vehicle has not been inspected for a cause but is available for inspection. The vehicle is in the towing company lot. This accident could have very easily resulted in fatalities. This accident should have never happened!!!

I was driving with the cruise control engaged set at 60 mph. Approached an intersection with traffic light with traffic stopped in both westbound lanes. Tapped the brake to deactivate the cruise control. The cruise control did not turn off but instead tapping the brake caused the truck to accelerate. Released the brake pressure and reapplied brake pressure. This action again caused the truck to accelerate. To avoid hitting stopped traffic I moved to the right hand turn lane which was free of traffic. The truck continued to accelerate as I applied brake pressure. As my truck entered the intersection a collision occurred with a northbound vehicle. The collision severely damaged my vehicle and the struck vehicle with injuries to myself and the other driver. Crash speed had to be over 60 mph. This was all captured by a traffic camera. My F-150 had 31,900 on the odometer. It has been dealership maintained since new and has no known defects other than this incident. No lights, no warnings. The truck has not been Inspected since the incident. The truck has heavy damage. This incident could have easily caused the deaths of myself and the other driver. Searches online have turned up the same complaints from other F-150 owners. I have photos on my email but can not get them loaded to this form. You need to see them!

Hello, I have a 2011 ford f150 eco boost. Just staring my brake pedal is very hard to push causing the vehicle to have no brakes. Took to dealer and said the vacuum pump is bad. Good new there a recall so they would fix for free. Mechanic called me back hour later stating the recall has expired so i have to pay for parts and labor. We are very confused why a safety recall that involves no brakes would expire?! This needs to get extended for safety reasons. I'm glad i didnt have my kids driving or they probably would have gotten into a accident! Please have ford look into this known problem.

The vehicle's electric vacuum pump was replaced under Ford's Customer Satisfaction Program 15NO5 at 23261 miles on 1/28/2019. Under that program, Ford extended the warranty on this part to 10 years/150k miles. This part produces vacuum to assist braking and to operate the four wheel drive system. When the truck is first started after sitting for some time, the operator has only manual braking and that can easily render the brakes insufficiently boosted for the amount of force an operator can push on the pedal, resulting in unintentional motion, forward or reverse of the vehicle. This pump also supplies vacuum to the parts that operate the four wheel drive, resulting in incorrect or incomplete selection of the driving mode, particularly when the vehicle is cold and during cold weather. This could cause sudden deceleration to a stop. This resulted in a dash warning to "check 4x4". Now, three years and 13k miles later, the part is once again operating unreliably, but the dealer tells me the vehicle has passed the ten year time limit and the program is over. This is a 5 $500 part, plus installation.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the brakes would not engage when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact was also stated that the vehicle made an abnormally loud grinding sound whenever the brake pedal was depressed. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the local dealer nor an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was relating the failure to an unknown recall. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.

Tried to apply the brakes and the brake pedal went to the floor without actuating the brakes. This happened suddenly and with no warning of any kind prior to the failure. I had to use the parking brake to bring the vehicle to a stop. The "BRAKE FLUID LOW" warning came on in the instrument cluster. The warning and the failure happened simultaneously, i.e. there was no indication of a problem until the braking system failed entirely. The vehicle had no braking action at all from the hydraulic brake system. Upon inspection the seals in the master cylinder appear to have failed, pulling all of the brake fluid into the brake vacuum-booster. It is my understanding that a problem identical to this one led to several accidents and a recall in the 2013-2015 F150. Clearly the issue is not limited to those model years as my truck is a 2011.

Driving home I started to hear and feel this noise on my engine like a clicking/grounting sound. I could hear it more when making turnes and when slowing down. Next day I got on my truck and when in reverse my truck would't let me because it looks like the front tires are locked. And can only go forward. The transmission does not go in reverse, transmission shift lever sequence starter interlock, and transmission braking effect. Transmission range sensor (trs) that was calibrated out of specification for reverse gear.

I am sitting at a stoplight or street sign my foot is on the break all the way down and then all of a sudden it jumps forward. Then it started putting when I drove and kept getting worse and the check engine light flashes for a good minute. Everytime it said there was nothing wrong with it, and the dealership only found minor stuff that needed fixed but it was none of thoes that was causing this issue. So then I looked for recalls, and I had the recall on my truck done and then my truck started knocking. This is still happening and nobody can seem to figure out whats going on with the truck.

The electric vacuum pump for the brake booster on my 2011 Ford F150 is showing the symptoms of failure. (suddenly very loud) it's only a matter of time. Ford has acknowledged that this part goes bad too quickly and offers an extended warranty for trucks showing this symptom, if the truck was built at certain plants and certain dates. My truck was built at one of those plants and between those dates, but they claim that my truck doesn't qualify for the program because supposedly the part in my truck isn't the same one even though it looks the same, it's in the same spot, it's failing the same way, and it's failing within the extended warranty period. They also say that when this part fails it can substantially reduce braking power.

Started my vehicle and went to leave a gas station. Stepped on brakes to stop for oncoming traffic and the pedal was hard as a rock and did not stop the vehicle. Pressed super hard on the pedal and the vehicle stopped. It was fine after that until I got home, turned off the vehicle and left sit for an hour. Started vehicle and the same issue happened again. Did some research and found out about the brake vacuum pump issue. I called Ford to see if my vehicle was on the extended warranty coverage (15N05), of course my vehicle was not covered. Had my wife been driving this vehicle, I do not think she would have been able to press hard enough for it to stop.

In 2016 I went to get recall repaired from franklin tn dealership I purchased the truck from, they refused, in 2019, they claim that the software was not available from Ford, online in emails to another dealer, I have not been told when to bring truck in to get all recalls repaired. Both dealerships are in tn. When in first gear, the truck will jerk back down and won't allow me to go to 2nd gear without pressing hard on gas, loud fan noise from the hood, breaks go to the floor and I have to pump to feel truck slowing down, air and heat continue to not work, air won't get cool and heat won't get hot, both dealerships have refused to repair or blamed Ford for not giving them what they needed to fix the recalls. I am documenting so my family will be able to give this to attorney. The down shift happens when the truck is in drive moving on any and every street, parking lot, stop light/sign. The loud fan noise from the engine only happens when the truck is started, the brakes have been going to the floor for 8 years at different times of the day/night when driving.
