It was odd because the fan would only blow on the highest speed, but none of the lower speeds. A quick Google and YouTube check suggested the fan control relay needed to be replaced. It was just a $35 part, the local parts store had it in stock, and was easy to swap out under the glovebox after removing some screws. This was for an XL with manual controls. If you have automatic climate control option, the part is $180.
