The windshield on this truck has chipped incredibly easily since day one. The chip that eventually broke the windshield started as a minuscule star in the tinted area on the drivers side. Within a month it had started to crack about 2 inches, then it just went from the top to the left had side completely. I had a 98 f-150 and never had any issues with glass, but this one has been terrible. Windshield isn't cheap because it has the F-150 logo in it.
