There is an intermittent grinding sound at 20mph and 40 mph. It happens when you lightly press on the Gas at 20 mph and 40 mph and goes away when you let off gas causing you to think it is a 4x4 actuator vacuum issue with the 4x4 IWE system. Or the engine is loosing vacuum causing the actuators to grind. Well the issue actually is the transmission. I tired all the other IWE parts. All new hoses check valve, and solenoid.. Took to multiple mechanics checked wheel hubs everything.

Apparently there is a formula that FORD uses to fix this issue while truck is still under warranty (after warranty expires they tell people to replace the entire transmission.) They will also say it's normal and you can still drive it like that if it does not bother you. FORD uses Motorcraft 6R ATF XL-16. You can can add one kit or two if needed. Best to buy it only feom dealer as only they have it. They have your mechanic drop pan, flush it, cleaned magnet and filter. Takes about 50-100 miles to get rid of the grinding. Kit is about $80 per kit.
