My 2010 F-150 crew-cab is brand new with approx 8,400 miles as of now. My CURRENT problem is the LED readout indicating the average gas mileage displaying one continuous readout, sticks on one number. I have the option of resetting my display, and did so because this readout displayed 15.6 MPG CONTINUALLY, independent of speed (this is not what the sticker advertised as the expected gas mileage when purchased). Upon reset, read between 11.2 and 12.8. I took it back to dealership and received a loaner while they attempt to fix this issue (as well as other problems of more significance). The loaner truck has not indicated any other number but 15.5 MPG even when in park. When I contacted the dealer they stated that it takes 1 or 2 tanks of fuel to reset, however, they were unable to explain to me when this timeframe began as they could not tell me if or when this vehicle had any maintenance performed that would initiate a reset. My other Fords indicated a real time fuel usage estimate based on speed and I cannot accept that this would be any different, even though the dealer claims this is normal. I asked another person who also has a 2010 F-150 and he too, said his gas mileage is much lower than what the sticker advertised and the readout does not change according to the speed he is traveling
