I bought a used 2010 F150 Super Crew w/5.4 with roughly 76000 miles on 02/12/13. I filled the tank, and gauge read full, and "miles to E" read 376 mi. I drove roughly 6 miles and miles to E read 350. I felt, well it's adjusting to the full tank. I park the truck at home, get up the next morning to go to work, and it shows 325 miles to E...I'm like WTF. As I am driving to work...drove about 3 miles, and it read 310 miles to E. I thought I had a gas leak, or that gas was evaporating from the cap less tank. I get to work which is a total of 7 miles from home, and miles to E had gone back to 342. From that day to present it has gotten worse, and I never really know how much fuel I have since the fuel gauge doesn't always display correctly. I have also noticed when I turn to the right at at least 10 MPH my miles to E drops dramatically. Also when parked nose up for a period of time, the miles to E will increase. What the hell is going on? I have always been a GM man, but i like the Ford body style. Is this a unique problem, or is it viral?

Have the truck at the dealership right now. I hope it gets fixed under the TSB I entered on here. It might be the fuel sending unit as well. I told the service tech the problem is all over the internet. On Ford forums, blogs, complaint boards, etc. And he told me he has never heard of this problem before, ya right!!! He said they will check out several other things first. Then, if I am right, they will contact Ford and proceed from there. Of course I am right! He said he is not calling me a liar but still must follow procedure. That's all fine and dandy, as long as this get's fixed. As an earlier poster commented about the same issue, parked nose up, nose down, mine does the same thing, so I guess we just don't know how to read our new style Ford fuel gauges. As said earlier, how can Ford mess up such a very very simple issue? I guess these engineers need to go back to OLD SCHOOL TRAINING!

Since my driveway has a slight incline I was told by the service dept. at the dealership that the gas gauge will jump up after being parked on an incline and it can take up to 55 minutes to correct itself. Has something to do with a slosh sensor in the gas tank. Absolutely horrible design flaw. I hardly ever now how much gas I have. Sometimes even after driving for a while the gauge will jump up or down for no reason. Has been back to dealership service dept. several times. No answers. Don't know what to do next!!!!!
