Continuous cold air, passenger side only. Replaced blend door. Very labor intensive $$. The whole dash has to come out. Worse, if you are unlucky enough to not get a good mechanic, you'll have to live with dashboard squeaks.
No heat on the driver side. Actuator is not working. Cost to repair is over $2000. Need to remove the dashboard and console. All this to repair a $25 part. Ford needs to fix this as it is a defect and needs to be covered under warranty or a recall.
I purchased the truck on 12/04/2014 used from a dealer here in Virginia and I don't mind telling you the dealer Crossroad Ford in Prince George, Virginia no warranty due to miles. Sso I purchased a warranty for $2000 and when I talked to salesman about the issue he said he would check on it and have service manager call me. It never did happen. A week went by, so I called him back same thing another week went by and nothing. So I called the service manager myself and he said the repair could range from 200 to 2000 dollars to fix. That sucks! On a truck I just purchased and the warranty does not cover the heater issue . The problem is no hot air on drivers side or in the rear of truck passenger side is fine. I have dual heat. As many problems as I have seen on here about this issue it seems like Ford would do something to help with it.
Have duel ac/heat controls for driver and passenger. Have warm air in passenger side but only cold air on driver's side. For time being can close vents on driver's side and open vents on passenger side to overcome morning chill. Estimated cost was "Over $500 plus parts which are not much." Mileage just over 43,200. And This??? Hoping for a warm winter in Oklahoma. Now I know why message on the hat on the guy in the coffee shop reads: "Ashes to Ashes Dust to Dust Were it not for Ford our tools would rust." This is our fourth and LAST Ford. Nothing but issues on all of them.
With the cold weather here in Colorado sometimes as early as September, this was a definite annoying problem. Fairly easy to fix, but really, the labor was more than the part because of the mode hood replacement to fix it. The place where I had it fixed said that Ford knew about this particular part in other Fords and Mercuries having an excessively high failure rate.
