This is an immaculate truck extremely low mileage, clean well maintained, an almost perfect truck. But because of the age of the truck Ford would not offer any type of help. The age of the vehicle should have no effect on a electronic part of this nature go bad. I have worked on fighter aircraft most of my life and when a part like this goes out there was a problem in the manufacturing of the part, this is from my experience as an electrician building fighter aircraft, and when this type failure occurred it was always because of poor manufacturing or handling of the part, dropped Bangladesh around, rough handling. I am a firm believer in Ford products but their design and handling of my issue, really pisses me off
