After reading some of the other concerns about the shifting from 1st to 2 or 3rd and only forth gear I wanted to share this. Recently my service engine light appeard. I had it checked buy mechanic. The actual reading I can't remember. It was basically reference to a disruption in the computer that could cause the vehicle to lose 2nd and 3rd gears. The possible solution was to clear out the computer and reload with most "Recent" program. If this did not work then the module would need to be replaced. Thing is only Ford could do this. I was only 5k over on my waranty. I called and the lady knew exactly what I wanted and it was $60.00. Not even 10mins into my visit I was told that I needed a new computer $1000.00. Of course I was upset not only was my truck just pass the warrany but I felt like I was being taken by the service dept as I was also told the service would be an hour 60mins. I wondered if it was even hooked up or just what the intentions were. I pushed for the initialy work I requested and honestly could only hope they would do it. When it was done the light was gone and has never returned. It has been long enough that I am guessing it was fixed for $60.00 not $1000.00 part alone. I also learned that there is alot of things that come down for vehicle computers that require them to need to be rebooted but we never hear of them. I do like my vehiclke but will be my last ford I have no confidence now..
