Transmission mechanic said they keep this transmission in stock because this problem is so bad. They replaced failed factory drum with solid aftermarket one and gave me a 1yr warranty. Said Ford knows about it but doesn’t do anything to fix it, just like a list of other problems. Should’ve bought a Chevrolet!
This is the first new vehicle I ever purchased.I have always been a Ford owner,and a satisfied one.After spending $30,000 for a new pickup in 2008 and the overdrive quiting at 55,00 miles,I am to say the least extremely disappointed in the durability of this truck.After researching this problem online ,I ffind that a lot more people are having the same issue with their F-150's.Is Ford Motor Co. aware of this problem and do you have any suggestions,or solutions for my dilema?I was unemployed for 2 years and just within the last month went back to work(at a much decreased salary,but at least I'm working)I was hoping to recover from an increasing debt problem and get caught up on bills.Now I am most likely facing an expensive repair bill,and without an extra vehicle to drive while my truck is being repaired,I forsee transportation problems ahead.
As I said,I have always been brand loyal,but if this is any indication of Ford quality I will be switching brands soon.Are there any pending recalls for this issue that you are aware of?
