Our 2008 F-150 has intermittent power steering failures while driving, which results in loss of control. We took it into a Ford service center and were told that they were unable to duplicate/ diagnose the problem. They said that another customer had come in with similar problems on a 2007, but they were also unable to duplicate/ diagnose the problem. However, since that person never came back again, they assumed the problem was a one time deal and told us to drive the vehicle. We talked to another dealership and were told that its caused by the power steering fluid over heating to the point that it won't pump through the system. They also told us that there is nothing that can be done other then pulling over and waiting for the system to cool down. We contacted the Ford Motor Company directly and they have declined to process our complaint at this time.
