After researching the Internet this is a common problem and Ford (2008 F150 4.6l v8 Triton 86k miles) does not want to issue a recall. My wife was on her way to work and the spark plug ejected and had to be towed 2 times. This is so annoying and ridiculous and Ford should be ashamed. The issue was fixed and seven month later my engin is ticking again. There is air around the socket and afraid it is going to blow again. HELP!!!!!!

I thought that my f150 was going to take me into my retirement years with little or no problems. For the price of these vehicles you would think that this would be true. Well, it's not. Not only did I have to replace the engine (spark plug blow out) after two years, Ford is being completely ignorant to this. I have been writing to the customer care centre & basically they do not care about what happened. They say, if there is a recall, they will let me know. They also said in the latest message, that " this will be our last reply unless other issues arise" Really? I worked in customer service for 37 years & never treated my customers like this. How many other people does this have to happen to for a recall. That's total bullshit!! I bought it used, but new this vehicle cost approx. $50,000.00. If I had paid that & have this happen after only four years, wow! There was an article in my local paper that read "Ford makes profit job 1" well ain't that the truth, especially since they will not face up to their problems. In my messages to them, I asked for at least half of the cost ($5300.00) & not once did they address that request. Looks like I need to go pay them a visit.

Original spark plugs should never blow out of an engine especially when this has been happening for more than a decade. No excuse! Ford has lost my trust! We know they are not serious about quality! Built Ford tough my ass! This truck has had many other problems as well that could have put me in harms way. No recall..............what a joke. There should be legal action!

I had this problem occur twice. The second time I blew a spark plug it couldn't be repaired with a Helio-Coil kit and I will need a head replacement. Estimate from the local dealership is $3200. Last Ford I'll ever buy. They know about the problem but continue to produce engines with the same design flaw.

I have 2008 Ford F 150 4.6 Triton motor and it ejected a spark plug on passenger side of motor, third plug toward cab. I had this happen to me in Tennessee, I live in North Carolina. It was the weekend and no mechanic shops open. I had my truck towed to son's house. Had to rent a car to get back home.

Looked on internet and found out this is a problem a lot people are having. Called Fairway Ford in Kingsport TN to see if Ford is fixing this problem. Was told there is no recall so I would have to pay to have it repaired. So, I asked how much? I was told it would cost $649.00 plus tax. I could not believe what I was hearing. I told the service adviser that was terrible and I think I need to contact better business. If this a problem many people are having why is there no recall and why are they not solving the problem? I cannot afford to pay $649.0 plus tax to repair something that is defective due to a problem with a design or whatever it is just to have spark plug replaced into motor.

I just lost my husband in August, a disabled veteran. He was a Ford man all the way. What do I do? How can we make Ford make this a recall?

This seems to be an issue with this engine. I'm not the only one having this problem with my truck, it seems that the issue has been going on for some time now and it needs to be addressed and fixed by the Ford Company or the manufacture of the spark plugs. They say it is not a safety hazard but it is. The truck can catch fire from the bad spark plugs, the truck can leave you stranded with no help, the truck can cost you lots of money to fix, etc. All of these things can cause harm to a person rather physically or mentally.
