Truck parked on incline driveway. Noticed rear seat was wet after a hard rain and noticed pooling water dripping from ceiling cover. Other threads have suggested the center brake light gasket or the sirius antenna. Will add caulking around both and hope that solves the problem....
In Vancouver, we get lots of rain. So when last rainy season started, I noticed a leak, dripping from the back of the headliner, right at the corner where it meets the rear window.
This problem was VERY easy to fix, at the same time for me, it was MESSY!
Simply remove the brake light cover on top of the cab, clean it out. Use clear silicone to reseal that light. make sure to seal around the ENTIRE edge, otherwise it will leak again, happened to me.
The reason why this is such a big problem, is because when you have all that moisture in the cab, it is hard for the windows to defog good. It also causes a lot of fogginess on the windows. And in the winter when the temp drops below zero, all that moisture will freeze. The morning I woke up with ICE on the inside of my window is the day I realized that the ENTIRE edge of the brake cover needed to be siliconed, i had left the middle portion of the bottom un-caulked.
If you have moisture inside your truck, put a small room heater in the truck for 6 hours or so, and the moisture will evaporate.
Called Ford they said they would look in to it. Dealer told me this happens a lot. All they did was take my money and give me a muddy truck back, I asked if the mud was extra charge, he said he was sorry. What a joke.
EVERY TIME IT RAINS HARD AND YOU OPEN EITHER FRONT DOOR WATER DRIPS FROM THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR SEAL. ONE ATTEMPT BY THE DEALER TO FIX WAS ADJUST DOORS AND THIS DID NOT WORK. FORD SENT AN UPDATED SEAL KIT BUT FOUND OUT IT WAS ONLY FOR MODELS WITH SUN ROOF. FORD THEN TOLD DEALER IT WAS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THIS MODEL AND HAVE ME COME IN FOR DEMO. I DID AND THE PROBLEM IS A DESIGN FLAW IN THE ROOF. FORD NOW SAYS THIS THE WAY THE DESIGN IS AND NOTHING CAN BE DONE. THIS PROBLEM STARTED SHORTLY AFTER THE PURCHASE ON 1-26-2009. I NOW HAVE A $ 36,500.00 DOLLAR TRUCK THAT DRIPS ALL OVER YOUR HEAD.
