I had a 1999 F-150 that I loved but wasn't big enough to pull a bigger travel trailer. I bought this 2008 and confess I never looked at the inside of the box before buying it.
I first noticed the problem after driving in rain an finding mud streaks around all seams in floor. I went back to the Ford dealer and looked at the rest of his F-150's-- they were all the same. I complained about the gaps to the dealer. No luck. He said "it's to drain out the water." Ford is still building the same crappy box floors today. Chevy, Dodge and Toyota all build a nice tight truck box with drain holes up front like the old '99 had while Ford's has daylight shinning through all the seam and panel gaps. The list on my 08 truck was $36K and they're higher now. There's no excuse for such shoddy construction. It's going to cost them selling me another truck.
