I noticed the gas tank was hanging lower than usual. Upon inspection the main frame on the drivers side by the gas tank was almost non existent on the underside affecting the bracket mount for the gas tank. I found a manufacturer who makes a sleeve that will go over the damage and reinforce the rot of the frame. No where else on the body of the truck is there excessive rust/ rot other than the frame. To me it looks like a poorly made steel product which looks 50 years old not 11. Because of the modification to the frame, no one in my state of Vermont will pass a vehicle inspection because the state law will not allow non factory modifications without certification from the manufacturer. At the very least Ford Motor Corporation should be aware of these frame failures and have some remedy to repair and or replace excessive rust/ rot on the frame.
