Second time this happened in traffic, I brought it to a different dealership and they believe it was the throttle body for $900 but was not 100% that was the problem. I opted not to repair it.

Starting at about 30,000 miles the truck would idle rough when at temperature randomly. Then at about 65,000 miles the truck started to idle rough all the time while at temperature. 2000 miles later, the CEL came on, and the truck died. Limped the truck to the dealership, and after a week I was told the cam phaser was bad, and the engine was blown. Refusing to believe this, I have changed almost every sensor in the thing, and while it has improved power, the end result is the same, everyone wonders how I fit a Cummings (Duramax, Powerstroke) engine into a f150.

Where do I begin?? Approximately 3 months ago the truck started doing this 'jumping/bumping' action when riding down the road, I took advise from a Ford Mechanic and a transmission place and they said it was a spark plug problem, not a transmission problem. OK fine. This is at mileage 95-97,000. So I decide to do a transmission fluid change since it was time for that anyway. That didn't help anything. We then brought the truck to get the spark plugs changed and the fuel filter changed, crossing my fingers that the spark plugs would not break off in the motor like this certain year model tends to do. Well, the spark plug change was successful! But then a NEW PROBLEM occurred after that. It was a 'ticking' noise that sped up with the speed of the vehicle and slowed down with the vehicle. We brought it to the mechanics again and they kept it for 1 1/2 days and could not find a problem. They said BRING IT TO THE FORD SERVICE DEPT. So a day or 2 after that on my way to FORD, suddenly it sounded like someone threw a wrench in the motor. It was a horrible noise. Had to get it TOWED to FORD, 40 miles away and I got a call back 4 days later. The mechanic said (Drumroll please....) that we had to REPLACE THE ENGINE that there was no repairing to the engine!!!! WTF! Great now, we are having the engine replace with an engine with about the same amount of miles 100,000 cost of $3,500 or more.

When it is fixed, that motherf** is going to be FOR SALE*. Since when can't we get at least 200,000 miles out of a vehicle. Low quality or poor workmanship. Who knows? I don't think no one knows what the hell they are doing!

truck engine started rocking like it wanted to cut off while driving under 15 mph, if i accelarate problem smoothes out car will run fine until i slow down to an idle roll or stop then problem starts again. check engine light came on and was check gave three problems, cam sensors, cam retarder, and a miss fire. took it to the dealer was told it was the solenoids they replaced it, that was not the problem was then told it was the cam phasers, replaced that, not the problem was told the parts under the valve cover showed signs of where and scratches and shavings that came from what they say a lack of oil changes and i would need a new motor ,oil was changed every 3000 to 4000 thousand miles using correct wieght of 5w-20 fully synthetic with records to show, was then told it is not recommended to use a fully synthetic i should use a blend fully synthetic is to thin.

Bought this truck from friend with 54 k miles on it, He was religious in servicing it. Now at 67k it started running rough at idle speed. I took straight to Ford dealer, first they said it was a bad oil filter but I had just changed that a week before. Then they said I have bad oil sludge. Serviced regularly with proof, but they informed me it is passed warranty and I need a new engine.

Cam phasers having problems. Coast $8,000. Took to an Auto shop in home town and it cost $7,000. And having idling problems. Cam phraser problems? That is what caused the problem in the first place. Now will a new engine even fix the problem? Me being mad is an understatement.

I am in trouble no matter what direction i turn. WHAT NOW ? Ford, it is true! Fix Or Repair Daily. Not there fault, I am the sap who bought a FORD. What recourse do I have? any help for me and those like me?

Out of the blue. Truck starts making a lifter tick-like noise, shaking, whistling. After a day with the mechanic, (a reputable one) he tells me it won't keep oil pressure, engine is shot. 41,000 miles. Ford wants me to tow it to them, so that they can look at it and tell me it's not covered because my 3yr/36,000 warranty is over? should I even bother? I'm sick about it. My mechanic is telling me about 4-5 grand for new engine installed. Does this sound right?

Took truck to dealership to have engine ticking noise diagnosed and was told they were not sure what it was, could be cam phaser's or could be a bad head not a very good diagnosis to me, but they couldn't tear it down until they got an ok from ford motor company. Then told me i could come and get my truck back and drive it home. I asked won't that do more damage to the engine, they said NO!! it will be fine. So i drive it home and it broke down and 5 miles from home, now it has to be towed to my house. Now i am making monthly payments on a truck i cannot drive. I am also the chief of our local volunteer fire dept. how am i supposed to get to my calls?

Ford still says that they have no known problem with these but the auto mechanics say that it is a common problem with this ford engine. The engine has a loud knocking noise coming from it when I am going slow (like under 10 miles an hour). Took it in and it ends up being the phase cams. Around $2200 to fix. Seems like Ford trucks have had this problem for a few years and do not feel like it is there problem to provent it. I am interested in class action as well if ford does not help me with this problem first.

Ford first tried to say I didn't change the oil enough. I use full synthetic. Cam phasers when I brought it in,then motor damage due to aftermarket oil filter. suggested replacing the engine, not covered under my 60,000 powertrain or my 100,000 ext. warranty. Asked why not just replace the worn head/cam wear. said it would void warranty for entire engine and still wouldn't be covered.I asked to have the oil filter for proof to a company maybe get compensation. They didn't keep it and couldn't tell me the brand, even after accusing me of not changing the oil a week earlier and asking me what brand of filter I used. Anyone want to join a class action?

F-150 LX 5L V8

I bought a 2007 ford f150 with an ext warranty. ( only reason I bought ext warr is because the truck I traded in didn't have one and the rear end was going out at the end of warranty) I have taken the truck in several times for poor gas mileage, paint peeling, mirror falling off, bad vibration in front end and transmission slipping. They replaced all four tires only to find prob there again after tires were broke in. I was told nothing was wrong with the transmission only to have it break where it wouldn't go in to reverse. They fixed that prob. at least they thought, you have to wiggle it to get it in reverse and make sure its locked in drive. The paint is bubbling in up on the hood and they denied that warranty due to an outside source. One day closing the drivers door the mirror fell out. They denied the warranty on this too. A few months later, the transmission still slipping and poor gas mileage, i drove it out of town, a 45 min. drive and I heard a loud knocking noise like the engine was falling out. I had it towed to the closest dealer. They told me they couldn't find anything at first but would keep looking. The engine light was on so they coded it for it to say " internal damage". The service manager handling my case called me and told me that it looks like there is major damage but they don't know what would of caused it.He said a cylinder looks like its been leaking and that is what caused the prob. He said that there was sludge in the motor but you could tell the oil had just been changed. I told him I had just changed it a few months before and had just added another quart a few days before when I took it out of town. I waited for him to call me back but didn't hear anything for a week so I called in to find out he no longer works there, he was fired because he tolds us that the cylinder could be leaking causing the prob. I asked to have the person handling my case call me back. One of the owners called me back and he told me that there was excessive sludge in the motor and asked for my receipts on oil changes. I found all 9 of them and brought copies to them. they took the motor apart and had a rep come in to look at it. He immediately looked at the oil pan and saw the sludge and told me the warranty was denied due to lack of maintenance. it only has 44000 miles on it and it only has to be changed every 5000 miles. I even used synthetic oil when I changed it. they canceled my warranty all together, even the ext warranty I paid almost $2000 for. We got a different story everytime we talked to them. I was first told that they had taken the motor apart and found the sludge. Then they tell me that they are going to have to take the motor apart but need me to pay over $1000 for it to be done.since I didn't buy it there. I told him I wasn't paying for nothing since it was covered under warranty because I have done all my maintenance and had all my receipts. He told me there shouldn't be a prob then and took it apart. Im wondering since they denied the claim, I wonder if they are going to make me pay for the motor being taken apart and put back together. I told them today to put my truck back together and I would come pick it up. I don't want to piss them off until I have the truck back in my possession. They have had it in 4 times for motor probs and this last time they have had it for 2 months. Meanwhile I am driving a rental that is a 2010 Dodge Ram that gets better gas mileage than the ford. I bought this truck at ford. financed it thru ford and the rental is being paid by ford and they give me a dodge to drive. Imagine that!!!! if anyone has any suggestions on what to do next cause i now have a truck I am still paying for that isnt going to run.

Since this has happened I have researched about this and found that warranties are nothing more than a figment of you imagination. Its a billion dollar scam.they assume you wont use them and when you try the will just deny you.

My Ford dealership replaced a sensor b/c the computer says that is the code it gives them yet it still has a knock in the engine and runs like sh*t! I've taken it back for a 2nd time and when I pulled in the shop it was barely running! they have had it another week this time and still can't get the "FORD ENGINEERS" to respond to the email they have sent them about my truck and what to do next. They want to check the engine internally but they have to have permission from FORD first!

Meanwhile - I'm paying for a truck and driving and loaner Lincoln town car!

Truck sounds like a diesel. It's embarrassing when going through a drive thru and the knock echos off the wall. Not sure what it is, it could be piston slap, cam phasers, exhaust manifold. Ford should be ashamed, but they claim it is normal.
