First good freeze/thaw/freeze here in Wisconsin and I am required to get the hairdryer out in the driveway to thaw my doors. The ice build up gets nearly 3/4" thick and runs the length of the bottom of the door. I was told not to park my truck outside! What? Ford's don't like to be cold?? As it turns out the water from your windshield runs down the inside of your doors? Who thought up that crazy design? So during the summer an unknown leaf fell off a random tree and blocked the drainage hole causing the water to back up into my door and freeze. I have been living with cleaning leaves out of that hole for 8 years now and my only help from the dealership was to drill a larger hole.
