This event has occurred twice in the last 3 months. The vehicle is a 2007 Ford F150 stx model with the 4.6L V8. In the last 3 months twice the #3 cylinder has blown a coil pack. The first time all I had to do was replace the coil pack. This most recent time it actually blew the spark plug out of the cylinder head. I again had to replace the coil pack but this time I had to buy a kit to repair the stripped head. The vehicle shut off and would not restart. I was able to get the vehicle to the side of the highway with out incident. I was driving on a main high way but luckily I was in the far right hand lane. Had I not been I don't know if I would have been able to guide the vehicle to safety as it had no power.
