Frame is completly rusted through and every F-150 in this year range has the same problem. Huge safty risk to all. Toyota had the same problem and warrantied them all this is not safe at all
I just had my truck serviced at sayville Ford & they found two broken front springs. The truck has 142000 miles. I cant find any recall info on NHTSA. Can you advise me if this is a current problem being investigated?

The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 10 mph, the drive shaft separated from the vehicle. The contact who was a certified mechanic repaired the rear axle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000.
Shutters upon accel. Rear clutch patch replaced. Returned 04/28/2014 for same problem. The 3rd time I returned on 05/29/2014. Again the shuttering continues..this problem was since been fixed. Hopefully.
The frame broke where the front differential mounts, this let the front axle twist and you can not steer the truck!!! I think this is very dangerous, if you were going over 5 mph. You could not turn.Ford factory rep. Says the truck is out of warranty so not there problem, they will not do anything about it. Ford should fix this at there expense as this a safety concern. How many other Ford pick ups have had this same problem but not reported it because they did not how to or who to complain to. The ntsb should look into this very carefully to see if this is a major problem.
The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-150. The contact stated during routine maintenance, he was notified that both of the coil springs broke due to corrosion. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 95,000.
The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-150. While traveling in 4-wheel drive at 30-50 mph there was an unusual clunking noise coming from under the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed and there were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 54,000. Updated 8/2/10 the consumer stated the vehicle pulled severly to the left and right. The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-150. While driving 50-70 mph, the steering wheel began to shake. The dealer recommended that the tires be replaced. The contact changed the tires, but the failure continued. He feels that the vehicle is very unsafe and difficult to drive. The current mileage was 29,190 and failure mileage was 23,000. Updated 01/05/2009 lj the consumer stated over the past 5 months he has experienced an ongoing problem with a shaking and shimmy of the vehicle at speeds of 50 mph. The dealer replaced the front rotors which stopped the front of the vehicle from shaking. Updated 01/05/09.
Moderate to severe wheel vibration in steering since 2006. It remains unrepaired after several attempts by the dealership where vehicle was purchased. I'm now being told to "live" with the shimmy and it should be "expected".
My new F150 has a terrible shudder in the steering wheel for the first 10 miles after the car is started. If it is cold out, it is very difficult to control the vehicle above 50 mph. Ford has replaced the tires, but they replaced them with the same pirellis and it did not help.
: the contact stated at various speeds, there was a whining noise under the driver side floor board. The noise sounded as though it was coming from the suspension. The dealership was unable to determine the problem.

Afterwards, the vehicle continued to have a vibration. The service manager attributed the problem to the basic harmonics of the vehicle. A vibration analyzer was placed on the vehicle to record any suspension issues, but no vibrations were detected. Updated 04/11/06.
: the contact stated the vehicle has several problems. While driving at no specific speed, the front end vibrated and rattled. The vehicle was taken to the local dealership for inspection. However, the problem could not be duplicated. The second problem occurred while entering a curve at 55mph, the right rear tire blew. The tire was not inspected for the cause of the failure although, the tire was replaced. The third problem is the cooling system bolts were loose. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for routine inspection and maintenance when the looseness of the bolts was discovered. The dealership tightened the bolts for repair.
