I have had the truck for a few years.I am aware of other recalls, but I do not see any for this problem. This has happened a few months ago with the driver side window. It really scared me because I have never experienced this with any other car or truck. I was driving at the time in heavy traffic when all of a sudden WHAM!! The window drops. I could not tell if it broke or not. This should not happen. Now today the same thing on the passenger side. What is wrong? If there was a recall on this why was I not informed of it?

My passenger side window fell into the door frame. Took it to Walnut Creek Ford and they're charging me $400.00 to replace the regulator, and $149 to diagnose the problem. WFT?? Had the drivers side regulator replaced at 30K miles. Ford needs to fix this problem. What a complete lack of quality!!!

THIS WAS REPLACED 2 YEARS BAD AND NOW IT'S DOWN AGAIN. THE 2 BACKS DOORS ARE NOT WORKING AT ALL DUE TO THE SAME PROBLEM. OUT OF 4 WINDOWS, ONLY 1 WORKS! THIS IS BULLSHIT. FORD SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE WINDOW PROBLEMS EVERYONE IS GOING THROUGH. I WILL NEVER CONSIDER ON BUYING ANOTHER FORD VEHICLE IF THESE PROBLEMS ARE NOT RESOLVED! WAITING ON A RECALL TO REPAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!

I NEVER HAD WINDOW PROBLEMS WITH OTHER MAKES OF CARS, ONLY FORDS. THE TRUCK HAS LOW MILEAGE AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED TO HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD HAVE A RECALL ON THE WINDOW REGULATOR CABLE.

I can't believe this. This is the 3rd time this has happened in the last 6 months. When is Ford going to get off their butts and do something about this. I replaced the first part myself but I don't have the coin right now to replace the other two. I've stopped using the fourth window because I'm afraid that its going to fail too. How can we as Ford owners pressure Ford into doing a recall for this problem?

Pulling through a drive-thru (slow speed) when I heard something drop but couldn't figure out what. When I looked over my passenger side window is down. Tried to roll it up and heard glass grinding noise. Saw this website and I am shocked at how many complaints there are for this issue. Absolutely poor on Ford's part to not issue a recall for this problem. There are too many complaints for this to be anything but a poor design and built into the vehicle.

Drivers front window, on extended cab, fell into door after work today. Went to put it down--and there it went.

Called Ad*nce Auto Parts on way home, Dorman #741-430, $89 bucks with new motor included, with a LIFETIME WARRANTY in stock.

Had it in and done in about an hour. If I could have waited its only $65 on A*zon. Hardly a big job with 6, 8, and 10mm sockets on a 1/4" drive ratchet and a flat head.

Not even worth complaining about. My truck has been awesome, and while its a bummer these regulators break a lot, its not worthy of a recall. Fix it and move on. If you cant fix this, you have no business driving a truck.

All of the windows started having problems a few months ago and then everything was fine until I heard a crunch, then the window dropped into the door while I was driving 70 in the forested area where I work! It was 99 degrees outside and we have some pretty large bugs not to mention that I need to keep my eyes on the road for the occasional bear or white tail! Scary...now it just makes a grinding noise and doesn't work at all...I had my Mustang stolen from our driveway a few months ago and now with no window in the truck--who knows? Maybe it would work out better if someone DID jack it! with all of the complaints here, I felt compelled to report this.

I'm about to call "Customer Care" to see if they do

F150 super cab, truck only has 22,000 miles on it, not a lot of use. Yet the drivers side window failed & fell into the door...in the WINTER. Found how to take the door panel apart & propped window into place. Turns out its expensive to buy the part thru Ford (new track etc). Only working PT I haven't had the $$ to have it fixed. And what do you know, LOTS of people are reporting the same problem. No way these should be failing at this rate, especially not with the low use my truck has

Update from Sep 5, 2012: I bought the whole regulator/frame/wire assembly from Advanced Auto, $72 on sale. No time to troubleshoot which piece is broken & do not trust the Ford crap to last after replacing a single part. I did NOT want yo buy the part from Ford - they said $175 for the same part - and probably the same problem would occur with their factory part

After a loud bang my driver side window on my 2005 Ford F150 Lariat Super Cab fell down inside the door. Only 65000 miles on it. Went to power it up only to hear crunching noises no window movement. I knew this was a problem from research I did for another well known issue(faulty fuel injectors). Called my local Ford Dealer, Sound, just out side Seattle WA. Only to be told they needed to charge me $160 + to diagnose the problem and an additional $460+ to repair it if it is the regulator.

This is the third window regulator that has failed on my F-150 truck, the last on cost me $525.00, so I may try to repair it myself. I contacted Ford, but the only thing I got from them was a sorry, but we will not help you.

My concern is with all these failures, why doesn`t Ford recall these trucks and do something to prevent this from occurring. This would really be tragic if it happened to a traveling family during a sever snow storm.

Driving down the free way and thinking something just hit your driver side door and not knowing if your window was broke or somebody through something could be pretty bad first thing on your way to work in pretty cold weather sucks. Then to find multiple web sites with tons of complaints is even more disturbing. What happened to customer service? Did it go out the window with these cheap made parts? Way to save a buck ford and put the burden on your customers.

the window on the driver's side fell into the door. i had to have the window regulator replaced on my 2005 f-150, costing me $356.77. this seems to be a major problem for 2005 f150 models that ford is not dealing with, dealers stock the parts, and both are making money at our expense. i'm happy that ford is making a profit now, but they should not expect it to continue if they don't make good on parts that fail.

I went to leave my driveway this morning, and as normal, I rolled the windows down just about 1/2 way so that I could see...with it being 29 degrees out there was a little frost on the windows. So as I pulled out on the road, I rolled the passenger window up and then went to roll the drivers side up, and low and behold, the flippin thing went DOWN instead of UP!!! Dropped right down inside the door!! It won't roll back up and make a nasty glass chipping noise when you do try to roll it up.

Well, needless to say it was a FLIPPING COLD ride to work when it's 29-32 degrees out, with a 55-60 mph wind whipping through your vehicle...SERIOUSLY, why the heck isn't there a GD recall on this??? IF it's the window regulator, and it does cost more than $375 then Ford, as a RESPONSIBLE manufacturer SHOULD place a recall on the darn thing...I should have NEVER traded off my Chevy...I've had problems with the plug coil wires, injectors, catalytic converter, lights...what a POS!!!! With Ford being the only NON-GOVT owned auto manufacturer in the US right now, a common person would figure that they'd want customer loyalty...it won't happen with problems like this!!!

Raining like hell and the driver window, without warning, falls down inside the door. Two lane road and traffic, so I almost wrecked and it really wet the the inside of my truck and new leather seats. Water spots on seats will not come out. Ford will not recall and I spent $450.00 to replace the cheap plastic sprocket the wire raps around to lower the window. But, guess what, you can't just buy the sprocket, you have to buy the hole window assembly to correct the problem with the power windows. Ford used to care about it's customers. What happened to Ford Motors, is this why we pay so much for union parts and labor? FORD, take a good look at what your problems are and just be glad it wasn't a rear window and a child restraint failed and a child fell out out of window. I don't know if I will purchase another vehicle but if I do it sure won't be a Ford anything. This is what I purchased for $40,000 and I could have been killed or killed someone else or both.

This is my third window to fail due to the cheap plastic used by Ford. Last time cost $180 (parts) because Ford only sells the whole regulator assembly not the parts that break. The moonroof also failed, plastic again. Ford wants $800 (parts only) because they only sell the entire frame and motor. The power slider has worked less than 30% of the time I've owned the truck. Ford should be ashamed for making us fix their poor material choices. 50 cents worth of plastic would be costing me about $1500 if I were to fix it all. I'm going to block up the window, I've taped up the moonroof, and I'm trading this POS in on a Chevy.

I was driving to work today in 30 degree weather and my drivers side window fell into the door, this is the 2nd time in 4 months that a window has fallen into the door. This sh*t is ridiculous, I was froze by the time I got to work. Then I had to leave work early so I could go & have it fixed. Ford needs to do something about this. I know I won't be buying a Ford F150 again.
