I was driving down the road and out of nowhere! my driver's door window slid/fell hard down into my door for no reason!! I didn't even hit a bump! not sure if the window broke at the bottom inside the door or not. Now it won't go up. Upon looking for the possible cause online, I read that Ford knows that this is an equipment defect and potential safety issue but has so far refused to do anything about it. This could have happened anywhere, even in a mall parking lot where someone would have instant access to the interior. Not to mention the safety issues, weather, etc.
While driving my 2005 Ford F150, the back window slid down. My daughter pushed the button to roll it up and a loud crunching sound with a pop followed. The function of the button is no longer operable. This is the second time this type of occurrence has happened, which has resulted in approximately $800 in repairs. The first time was over a year ago on the driver's window.
Power window regulator failure on 2005 F150. Was driving and tried to adjust window and it crashed down into bottom of door. The large "clunk" was very distracting and startled me while driving 65 mph. I have done some research and this is not an isolated problem. There are numerous accounts of multiple failures with this part. You need to put the heat on these guys to have this part redesigned with better guts because there is no doubt it is a defective design. [xxx]
I have had two windows stop rolling up on my F150 lariat. It is a 2005 model. The truck has 43,000 miles on it. I have read many complaints of the same problem. Must be a manufacturers defect. I think if I had a Toyota, they would fix it.

Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) I own a 2005 Ford F-150 super cab California limited edition bought brand new and now has 48388.9 miles and I heard a loud pop as I was at the light, I then looked around and rolled the window down ( drivers door side) and the whole window fell inside the track. I had to call a repair man to fix it and he charged over $200 dollars. I feel this is a safety issue (someone could get scared because of the loud pop or the window falling inside the track as your driving causing a distraction to the road and vehicles surrounding them).I feel that there should be a recall because of that and that Ford should be responsible for replacing all the windows regulators in all affected vehicles including the other three windows in my truck before it does the same thing and cause another distraction. From my understanding as I was researching on the computer there have been already many complaints. [xxx]
2005 F-150 FX4 5.4L Triton 43,000 miles while driving to work one morning, I heard a loud thud!! in shock, thinking something may have crashed through my window, I immediately pulled off to the side of the road during very busy a.M traffic. I could not find any trace of broken glass. I then looked inside the door and saw that the glass had just fallen in"???" I could press the button and hear the motor, but absolutely no movement from the glass. Two weeks later, with a 2X4 holding the window up on the passenger side of a $35,000 dollar automobile, me my two year and my eleven year olds in the back, were on interstate 10.unbelievably, my drivers side window comes crashing down and explodes in the door!!!! with the wind rushing unexpectedly in, and the loud crash of the glass breaking in the door, I temporarily lost control of my vehicle. Knowing I had my families life at stake, I immediately gained control and brought my truck to a screeching halt in the emergency lane. From that moment, I have contacted the better business bureau, called Ford and made complaints. According to the Ford parts person I spoke to the other day the window regulator part# has changed now 3 times and he stated that Ford never changes the part # unless there is a physical change to the part and he stated they have had "issues" with these regulators thus the change, he stated that the newest version has been beefed up around the plastic clip that keeps breaking off, hopefully the newest versions have corrected the problem but as you can see just by the fact that Ford has changed the part # 3 times they know about this problem and now they need to fix this safety hazard on all of our windows.
I have a 2005 Ford F150 and the window was kind of having problems going up. Down was never a problem. Then finally it quit going up all together. Was able to disassemble and found the little plastic plugger for the rocker contact was all mushroomed out. Took one from one of the back window switches to get by.
Front window does not always go up and down. Afraid to use the automatic button afraid I will not get it back up. It happens almost everytime I put the window down now.
I purchased a Ford F150 XLT V8 5.4 2wd truck in July of 2005. Since then I have had to replace the regulator for the driver side power window. I just had the last one replaced in October of 08'. it is starting to fail again. When I press the button for the window to go down, once down it won't come back up. I have to physically lift the window back up. This is a noted and constant problem with this vehicle. Ford is aware of the issue but won't issue a recall or design a fix for the problem. In speaking with mechanics from Ford, this issue started with the new model that came out in 2004. The 2005 models are prone to the defect. I should not have to replace the regulator three times in four years. This is an obvious issue to which I see no resolve. Please look into the matter.
I was driving my 2005 F-150 truck with 37,500 miles on it, when I heard a rattling noise coming from my drivers side window. It sounded as though the window was not all the way up. I then pushed the button to wind the window up and then the whole window just fell back into the door with a loud crash. I drove home and opened the door panel to see if the window was broken and it was not. I called a Ford dealership and he said it was a common problem with the window regulator and that there was a redesign. I asked if there was a recall on it and they said that Ford doesn't consider it a safety issue and therefore a recall is not required. I said that I was driving down the road at 60 mph and my window falls out with a loud bang distracting me and being 35 degrees and raining out and that is not a safety issue. He then said Ford doesn't see it that way. I had to pay $333 to fix a problem that Ford knows about.
Window regulator on 2005 F-150 got in my truck, closed the door, and the window fell into the door. Reading online this seems to be a huge issue. It is very dangerous and costly.
I was driving down the road in my 2005 Ford F-150 when I heard a loud pop, it was my drivers side window that just gave out on its own. Now this same problem has happened to my passenger side window nearly 3 months ago. It a hazard for the simple fact that I driving on the road and it spoooked the '!@#$% out of me causing me to swerve on the other lanes. Please have this part recalled immediately. It has happened to me twice and my older brother also has a F-150 and him too has had this problem!!!
The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. While driving in a rainstorm at 65 mph the driver-side window collapsed. When the failure occurred, he heard a loud bang. He pulled over and then took the vehicle to a local repair facility. A technician stated that the window regulator failed. He called the manufacturer and was referred to NHTSA. The vehicle had not been repaired to-date. The current mileage was 53,547. The failure mileage was approximately 53,520.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. The passenger and driver side window had fallen inside of the door without warning. He speculated that the plastic clip for the window cables have fractured. He has not contacted the dealer or manufacturer. The failure and current mileages were 55,000.
