The lower ujoint on the steering column is freezing up from corrosion. In the past I had noticed it was getting harder to steer so I would spray the joints with penetrating oil and they would improve. Today the joints were so bad it was as if the power steering had given out, to the point I pulled over to check that I didn't blow a power steering hose. I will not let my wife drive this truck until the part is replaced but at a cost of $200 for the part it will have to be parked for a while. I understand normal wear but this is common enough to draw some attention I hope.

I just wanted to add my vehicle to the list of complaints about the differential. Mine makes noise and has made noise for quite some time. I thought it might be the tires or rotors. I found out that it was coming directly from the rear differential. Based on the complaints I have heard, I am pretty sure this is the same thing. The noise sounds like metal running on metal. I believe this should be something Ford should pay to fix. If I have to pay for it, I'm definitely not using Ford. I read that's many people have the same complaints. This failure is security public problems, because accidental or crash may occur.

The vehicle is a 2005 Ford F 150. Shock fell off doing 30 miles mph. Took to my body shop to repair. Said I needed to go to dealer. I bought it brand new. Dealer was no help he said he had never seen a frame as bad as mine. When I asked what and to do, he told me to decide for myself what to do. The frame and suspension were so bad he said the vehicle was unsafe to drive. Confirmed by another Ford dealership. I now have a vehicle which is Ford's signature truck which may simply go to the junk yard. All said it can not be fixed. I would need a new frame for ca. 18000. Not worth repairing. Called Ford and they simply said there was nothing they could do. It is evident the frame was defective when assembled.

While sitting at rest, the left front coil spring broke at the bottom rung. The engine was not running and the truck was unloaded. I heard a loud snap and the truck shook. No parts or fragments were released and the break was clean and rather even across the body of the spring. The stance of the truck has been altered although no change in drivablility to date (next day).

Our 2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty, (with less than 50,000 miles) continues to have instances of extreme front end shaking when crossing bridges and going over any size bumps in the road, (big or small). When this happens, the vehicle is 'out of control'!!! this is a severe and dangerous problem that Ford needs to recall. It is clear that this is an ongoing issue with this vehicle. Is it going to take a fatal crash to get the attention from the Ford manufacturer"???? or a class action lawsuit???" the local dealerships deny there is any issue with the vehicle, have paid private mechanic to install stabilizer, etc., but problem is only getting worse. Due to this being a severe safety hazard, I would like to see a formal recall process begin.

I bought truck in Aug 2008 with vibration in steering wheel and the tires were cupped. I replaced the struts, shocks and tires and an alignment was done at that time. The vibration continued, so all the rotors and brakes pads were replaced and the parking brakes adjusted. The truck still shakes violently as if tires are out of balance or about to fall off the truck. I have not found a solution other than to stop driving the vehicle and waiting for 15 minutes before driving again (I do not know if this helps, but feel better doing so). As of the last occurrence (not towing anything), I noticed the shaking begin before a fuel fill-up and then stop after the fill-up. I will note the vibration occurred at the 3/4 fill mark and continued until the 1/2 fuel fill mark was reached. I was able to drive for the next 1/4 tank of fuel with no incidence. The violent vibration returned at the 3/4 tank mark and ceased upon reaching the 1/2 tank fill mark. The vibration stopped for the next 1/4 tank and only marginally returned upon reaching the final 1/4 fuel fill mark.

I bought a truck at selinsgrove Ford about a month ago. The night I got it home I noticed it sounded like a diesel.. that was fine then when you get up to about 55mph its has a bad shimmy and I had it back a couple of different time and they say they don't know what to do about it now. It had to be wrecked or something because there was a crease on the bumper and the drivers side door needed adjusted.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. While driving 45-55 mph, the vehicle experiences moderate to severe shaking. The road conditions are not a factor. The shaking is so severe that the contact has to stop the vehicle. The brakes, brake pads, and rotors were changed, but that has not remedied the failure. The windshield wipers also raised away from the windshield when the shaking occurred. When the contact shut off the engine and restarted the vehicle, the shaking stopped. All four of the tires were replaced. The dealer disassembled and rebuilt the emergency brake, which was dragging and wore out the lining. The approximate failure and current mileages were 45,000. Updated 09/10/08. The consumer stated the problem was intermittent. Updated 09/12/08.

2005 Ford F-150 super crew 4X4: Truck shutters around 50 mph. Ford dealer says one of my tires are bad(disintegrating)? tire dealer shows no record of this happening with the tires I have on my vehicle. Waited several thousand miles, had tires balanced by tire dealer, all four tires balance to "0"(zero), no tire disintegration per tire dealer. Truck still shutters under power. Trying Lincoln Mercury dealer to see what their mechanics come up with.

I had about 9500 miles on my 2005 F150 when the alignment needed repair. I had it aligned at a local dealer, and they couldn't get my steering wheel straight with the road. Had taken back several times, and they still could not fix the problem. Truck still has a hard pull to the left when steering wheel is straightened out.

Had my F150 for less than 3 months when noticed the vibration when applying the brakes, also has rough idle, and rough suspension. Took to dealer they stated nothing wrong... well now its been about 9 month and the vibration has gotten so bad that when brakes are applied you get the steering wheel shaking along with the truck. Again I took to the dealer now they tell me my rotors are warped and I need an alignment and new tires cause it ate the tread off the inside of the tires, and they want to charge me $400. I talked to the tire warranty department he even said that it shouldn't be happening along with many others. But Ford service says it normal.....now I am driving a truck with kids that is unsafe. Are they wanting for people to die before they correct this problem??

Please help a consumer! I question the safety and long term value of the new Ford F150 trucks my name is [xxx] and I am writing you as a last ditch effort to inform the public about a production issue with the Ford F150 trucks that vibrate under normal driving conditions. About three months ago I purchased a new F150 and from that point I have had a vibration and transmission issue. Ford has not been able to correct it and in the process I found that the dealership I bought the truck from forged some invoice documents. I was shocked to find this problem all over the country when I started to look into it. You can see for yourself if you search google for topics like "2005 F150 vibration". if you would like, I could send you a list of websites to help. In all fairness to Ford they deserve a chance to inform the public about this and I am in the process of working with a lawyer to get my money back. I have attached a copy of my nightmare to this email and just wanted to let you know I have followed every protocol set by Ford. I have also noticed that Ford just likes to have problems delayed and expect people to run out of money when trying to recover their original purchase. You will also find emails attached from people across the country with the same problem. This story is not a waste of your time. Please feel free to search the internet, you will find all the supporting information you need. Can you please find the time to help get the word out and make things right? I just want my money back and do not want anyone else to fall into this trap. Help from the press would not allow Ford Motor Company to stonewall people. Lets give Ford a chance to help the consumer. Call anytime [xxx] - I am willing to provide all supporting info including service records, research, and contacts from across the usa. Thanks [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
