When gas prices started going up, we went to Ford dealership where we purchased the truck and bought a lock gas cap, $45.00. When we put the gas cap on all the gauges on the dashboard would not register, didn't know how many miles, how much gas, etc.
Went to put gas in truck and the top of new lock gas cap was half broke off just from turning to open. Took back to dealership to get replacement, were told that Ford Co. when they made these lock gas caps in a mass production and the treads did not line up with people who owned these trucks. So it would not do any good to order another because it would not work. Purchased another lock gas cap from Wal-Mart, it did the same thing, none of the dashboard gauges worked.
Ford Co. make some lock gas caps that work. Gas is not getting any cheaper!
