Have a 2000 Ford F150 had tank filled with gas and was driving down road when gas tank fell of found that both straps that held tank had rusted through thankfully we were not moving fast or it is hard to tell what would have happened there is only 125000 mile on vehicle and has been maintained feel that an incident like this is uncalled for that there should have been a safer way of mounting since vehicle had even been rustproofed we are thankfull that this did not happen a high speed for we feel that something grave could have happened to us and anyone behind us if and when it may have exploded.

Email from the office of congressman dingell re constituent who believes Ford Motor Co. Maybe in violation of the tread act. The consumer stated the design flaw dates back to the late 1990's. the consumer believed that the Ford F series Super Duty pick-up trucks need to be investigated for a defect that involves the side pole which could cause injuries/deaths during a side impact crash. The consumer claimed that the relationship of the frame rail spacing and occupant seating placed the occupant in undue danger in side impact crashes. Especially when the side impact involves the vehicle striking a pole. Updated 03/1/10 updated 03/15/10 the consumer stated the fuel leak was a result of a tank strap that rusted. Also, the other strap is severely corroded. Updated 01/28/11 updated 03/08/11 updated 9/24/13

Paint blistering off aluminum hood. Two spots where the hood meets the grill about the size of my XL fist and growing. Under the hood around the edges showing signs of blistering. Washing the hood (not power washing -- by hand) dislodged all the paint off in these areas and now is down to pitted aluminum.

My window on my Ford F150 was leaking. Water leaked into the cab and into the GEM and fusebox. First, my fan stayed on after the key was removed. Then a buzzing sound came from around the fusebox. Then a beeping sound started coming from around the fusebox. Lastly I was driving on the freeway and the whole truck began shaking. It was hard to distinguish what the problem was, flat tire, broken axle? I parked the truck, and went to start it again, and the same shuddering came from the engine. This is very dangerous. I began looking on the internet and found that many people with F150's, Expedition, Navigator, etc were all having this problem from years 97-03. This should be a recall - this is very hazardous!

2000 Ford F-150 lariat 4 X 4 windshield leaks. As a result of this leak the windshield wipers sporadically go on. The switch is off but the wipers just come on. I have to pull the fuse so it will not happen. When it rains I have to put the fuse back in so they will work.

I have a 2000 Ford 150 ext.cab truck a freind of mine brought to my attention that the doors are cracking. He has a 1998 ext cab F-150 that did the same thing. He got his fixed under warranty. I called Ford Motor Co. They told me they were not aware of a problem to take it to my local dealer who told me there is nothing they will do to repair this. They would not even come out and look at it. They did tell me there is a fix for this problem but they don"T have a recall for this. I went to several local dealers and checked 1997 to 2000 Ford trucks and found 8 out of 8 had this same problem. I called Ford. Again they gave me the same story. Since then I have been checking other trucks in parking lots and they all have the same problem and most of the people that I have got to talk to were not aware their doors were cracking. I really think Ford needs to recall these doors after paying $25,000 for an automobile and having something like this happen to it. They know there?S a fix for it but won"T pay to fix the problem

My F150 has a door crack on the drivers door. 80 to 90% of 1997 through 2000 F150/250 pickup will develop this problem on one of both of the front doors. As I didn't notice this until two weeks after my warr. Ran out, Ford will not do anything about this. I have found two internet sites with people with the same problems on thousands of trucks involved. There are several tsbs from Ford on this problem.
