My truck has been broken into 4 times. It is very easy for a thief to jam a screw driver into your keyhole and gain entry to your truck. The most annoying part is having to replace your door lock again because your key will no longer work.
The mechanic quoted me $350 to replace the door lock and handle. However, I found a lock cylinder on ebay for $35. Took that to a locksmith and installed it myself. Now I just worry about future break ins and having to replace it again.
You can purchase and install a jimmy jammer if you want to prevent this style of thief from gaining entry to your car. It will still ruin your lock cylinder if they attempt to bust it with a screw driver, but at least they won't get inside your truck.
