This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Contact stated the rear brakes locked on cold starts. The dealer attempted to repair the brakes, but the problem reccured. The manufacturer offered no free remedy.
The brakes wore out prematurely and the repair shop said that the original equipment rotor discs were already under (less than) specification when manufactured (ie. The incorrect spec. Was installed). Also, the rear anti-lock brakes do not work. Independently or combined, these conditions have resulted in poor braking resulting in numerous running of stop signs and near rear end collisions with vehicles or collisions with curbs, signs, etc.
The original rear sliding glass window leaked and was replaced under warranty (less than 36000 mi.). the replacement window eventually leaked too, so it was defective also. The front brake pads wore out and scored the rotors. The repair shop indicated that they could not turn/repair the rotors because they were under specification. Further investigation indicated that the replacement rotors for this vehicle have a different thickness specification. The original rotors are either not the correct thickness or have an incorrect specification. The brakes have never seemed to perform properly. Brakes must be applied very hard and even then the vehicle does not stop very quickly.
While driving at 15 mph and going around a corner noticed some type of loud noise coming from the brake caliper brake caliper snapped in half which damaged the front rotors.
Whenever brakes are applied, damp, rainy or cold weather, the brakes would make noise & lock up. An intermittent problem. Took vehicle to dealership & mechanic checked it. Had replaced pads & drums on brakes. Had the brakes inpspected & told brakes were okay, but still have problem. Was told by mechanic to come once a month to have it checked. Manufacturer knows of problem.
The front brakes are locking up on wet pavements. Dealer contacted the manufacturer to ask how to repair vehicle. Manufacturer has not contacted the dealer.
