This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
This complaint concerns the driver's side seat belt. When the seat belt tongue is inserted into the buckle there is the reassuring "click" and it feels secure and engaged. However, when leaning forward the seat belt comes unlatched. Previously this was an occasional failure, now it fails whenever leaning forward. I have not yet made efforts to correct the failure. I wear the belt because law enforcement in California is very strict about seat belt use. Information stamped on the back of the seat belt buckle: TRW rcf-67.
