This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
As I read a lot from these forums, I am finding out that I am not the only one with this problem. I have a 1995 Ford F 150 with a rusted oil pan and it is starting to leak oil. I think this has been going on for many years and Ford needs to do something about it.
Oil pressure gauge and water temperature gauge peg out high or vasilate on intermittent bases. Gauges can sometimes be "tapped down". sending units have been changed with no affect. This condition is very distractive and does not protect equipment in case of overheating.
