This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I contacted Ford Motor Company back when the oil change place told me about the problem, then call Ford up and talked a rep. He said it was not under warranty or recall. But he said he would contact hiller Ford (closed dealer to me) and they would call me within a week. I never got a call. I finally had to bring it in this week and get it replaced by a private garage in milwaukee. (the dealer's cost was way out of line.). I'm not thrilled by Ford not getting back to me and this just shows what they think of there customers.I'm going to bring the part into work and have the metal anyalized and see what the problem was. No sxafety defect listed.
Vehicle failed to start. Voltage on instrument panel not showing vehicle receiving any voltage. Might be related to interlock switch on clutch. Switch was going bad. The engine stalled & had lost steering power. Been to dealer & informed had no problems before.
Vehicle lost oil pressure as I was driving on the highway. When I noticed the failure on my pressure gage I pulled off the road and the engine was making a terrible noise. We then had the vehicle towed to a garage to have it looked at, the machanic said that he thought that I might have spun a berring on the crank. Every mechanic that I have talked to { 5 including this one!! } said that this trucks oil pump should have never gone out at only 100,000 miles. Has this ever happened before" is there anything I can do short of replacing my engine at the cost of $2500 " any help or information would be greatly appreciated.. thank you in advance for your help and cooperation.. thanks again, kevin light
Clunking, popping, cracking noise from front end, doesn't do it all the time, not associated with turning, hitting bumps, stopping. Dealer couldn't find problem but welded a couple of places on frame. Bushings visually okay and ball joints appear to be okay too.
I bought this truck in July of 1995 brand new.since the day I bought I noticed problems.what my truck did and still does, is it hesitates. When you first start it up and drive it, it is fine. But as soon as it starts to reach operating temperatures, it will start to hesitate. I contacted my local dealership, and they tried to fix it three times on three diffrent occasions and could not fix it. They did duplicate the problem. I then contacted the manufacturer, and they told me to bring it back to have the dealership look at it again. It is now off warranty, and my problems still exists.
Driving along on the highway, heard a loud noise, saw smoke coming from the hood area through the vents. Got out of the vehicle and it burst into flames, burning the entire vehicle.
