This is the third time this has happened. After threating legal action the repair cost this time was lowered to "only $515.00".

The authorized Ford dealership mechanic states that if you hit a puddle in the rain, or go through a car wash with an underbody spray, water bounces of the inside of the hood and collects around the spark plugs causing electrical damage to the system and the transmission light comes on.

Seriously, I can't drive my truck in the rain - in Houston, Texas?

He also informed me that this happens on several other models as well.

I find it hard to believe that this major design error cannot be fixed.
