Drive shaft cv joint is broken. The vehicle is used for driving to and from work. Ford's design does not allow for replacement of broken part only. The entire driveshaft is being replaced. The car is 5 years old and garage kept. My 2000 explorer is over 200,000 miles with never needing a major component replacement. Ford has begun to use unserviceable parts on their cars. Ford cars have become a wait to fail vehicle instead of being able to perform preventative maintenance. Sad to see my 5 year old sport trac needing more maintenance then my 12 year old explorer. Time for something other than a ford.
