clutch fan engages when accelerating
My 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac began making this fan noise approx 3 months ago. The noise became progressively louder and more frequent as the weather got warmer. I first noticed that my RPM's would go up when this occurred which lead me to believe it was a transmission. After the transmission rebuild, the problem remained. The repair shop isolated the noise to the clutch fan and it was replaced. The problem persists. I've noticed that if I'm using the AC, the problem starts earlier in my trip. No repair facility is willing to give me a diagnosis. It seems to me this is not an isolated problem specific to just my vehicle. I don't want to play the "process of elimination game" anymore spending untold amounts of money replacing things that don't need replacing or fixed.
