My wife was crossing railroad tracks going less than 10mph when the right front suspension failed, causing the vehicle to slam to the pavement and deploying four airbags causing minor injuries. Ford sent engineers to evaluate and retrieve data from the rcm. The report confirms witness statement that she was flowing with traffic less than 10 mph. The rcm shows the initial speed of 4.4 mph and 17.7 mph at time of impact. The rcm records 5 seconds before impact. The displacement formula calculates distance traveled in this time frame. The math calculates she should have traveled 81 feet in this time span. The car was sitting 80 feet from the tracks which confirms witness statement of less than 10 mph. Ford executive counsel states the vehicle performed as designed and they are not responsible. I had to file a claim with my insurance which totaled the vehicle costing me thousands. I have filed a complaint with nhtsb and the bbb. Ford has a limited recall on this model for steering knuckle issues. Did I mention I am a 32 year employee of Ford?
