Vehicle had been sitting in the driveway for 3 hours. Temperature on 4/3/2021 was 70 degrees F at the time of the shattering event. Was standing in the drive about 10-15 feet from the vehicle. Heard what sounded like a muffled gunshot. Walked behind the vehicle to see glass in the driveway and the window crackling. Window crumbled all around the edges and continued crackling for an hour or so. Then a portion of the window fell into the rear compartment.
Ford dealer claimed I had an "impact". I countered with my video (not attached). There was no impact. Of course the dealer took no responsibility. It cost $632 to replace it. Had it replaced a the dealer as I thought I might get some traction with a product defect complaint. They passed the buck and gave me the invoice.
