Ford TSB #SSM 46888
2017 Ford Explorer
TSB Document:
Affected Component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary
- Some 2017 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 110V power inverter may exhibit a high pitched buzzing or ringing noise from the passenger side front interior area while the engine is running. To isolate the noise to the power inverter, remove fuse 56 from the battery junction box with the engine running. Make sure there is nothing plugged into the 110V outlet during the test. If the noise is no longer present with the fuse removed, the noise is isolated to the inverter and no other components should be replaced. Replacement of the inverter may not resolve the noise. Engineering is aware of the concern and is investigating. The noise does not affect the operation of the power inverter. Please submit a Global Concern Report and continue to monitor OASIS for updates.
