Firstly, I am the original owner of the car. Car started having rough idle while in drive or reverse with a slow start from stop. Some jerking and hesitation while shifting in 3rd gear and up. Took it to Ford dealer to have diagnosed and was diagnosed with a failed torque converter stating that the transmission needed to be replaced. Customer Satisfaction program 20N07 was opened on October 9th, 2020 for this exact issue (I was never notified) and was closed on November 30, 2021. Barely 1 year does not give customers any timeline to have anything done and what about those that never had the issue during that short timeframe??? Since the vehicle is now over 100k miles and the NHTSA program 20N07 is no longer valid, no assistance is available to me to fix the car. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE (HENCE THE PREVIOUS 20N07 COVERAGE) AND WILL DO NOTHING MORE ABOUT IT. Don't know how this is right in any way but steer clear of any 2016-2019 Ford Explorer with a 2.4L 4cylinder engine as this is a known issue that is no longer covered under any sort of warrantee program.
