Was notified today that the # 1 cylinder which should be operating at 140 is operating at 40. Was told this is a severe engine problem and would require a new engine. The vehicle has 58+ k miles, under 60k but I've had it since October 2017 and so the warranty is not good. I was told the vehicle would need a new engine which would/could cost anywhere from $6 to $10k. I was also told by the garage I took it to that they had another explorer, 2017 with the same problem. In reading some of the other comments I've come to the conclusion that these engine problems were understood during the 2010 timeframe but nothing was done to correct this engine deficiency. Would like to know what Ford industry is going to do/would be available to do to assist owners who have/are experiencing problems of this nature.
