The fluid that is green here is the stuff they use to make the air conditioning work throughout the car, so if the lines leak to that make the rear A/C work, then you lose ALL of your A/C. You might think that living in a cold climate makes that okay, but A/C helps your Defrost work better, too. My kids get car sick, and cool air can help. This car that is less than 2 years old already leaks A/C, but because it is out of Warranty Ford Customer Service won't do anything about it. The car was from Colorado where they SALT the roads. Enough roads are salted throughout the USA that they should build these cars to be more resistant to it, but they don't.
I am interested in a Class Action Lawsuit, so let's get together. I told Ford Customer Service that they should be embarrassed a car this new has a problem like this and they should cover it, but they don't care about me and my opinion. The supervisor did say that she was logging it into their system that does help determine recalls, but I highly doubt they will compensate me for the $1700 the dealer is charging me to fix it.
I talked to a mechanic I knew could make pressurized lines out of Rubber and he said that his price to replace the lines would be comparable to the Ford Dealer, so I am having Ford do it because rubber would eventually break, too.
WHY DID ALUMINUM LINES CORRODE? Are they Aluminum? They usually are...
We originally thought it was antifreeze, since it was green. It wasn't antifreeze yet, but the $1700 fix replaces all 4 lines, which are 2 for antifreeze for the heat and 2 for R134 for cooling. So at least it replaces all of them...
