I purchased this vehicle July 2nd, 2018, approx. 2 weeks after purchase, the driver's side arm rest split, it was then I realized there was some type of repair that had been done previously and the Salesperson did not disclose this information to me, nor did I find it in any of my paperwork. It was a deal breaker for me.
I called the sales person, stated my complaint and she said I could trade it in but would lose on the trade in, which just added more fuel to the fire. She called Dr. Vinyl(local repair guy), who came to repair it again. He proceeded to tell me he tried to fix it before but it will only happen again due to the bad design of the door. So the next time he is summoned to fix, he'll have to cut the seam all the way through and try to fix it a different way. Not happy to say the least, pretty pissed off actually but no one wants to help but the Vinyl fix it guy.
I requested the sales person to call Ford and find out if there are any recalls on this, there are not. The only true fix for this is to replace the door panel is my understanding, to the tune of $700 wth??!
After reading that others have experienced the same issue, in my opinion, Ford should fix this, but not only that the dealership should have been honest with me. I will honestly never purchase another vehicle from this dealership and will have to re-consider whether or not Ford is in the picture for future purchases.
