Check Charging system light comes on in my 2014 Ford Explorer and sometimes the power steering goes out. Then the light will go out and steering resumes. Only happens for a little while, never continuously. Battery is only one year old and shows 12.4 volts. When engine is running it shows 14.4 volts charging. Light coming on for a few seconds to a minute would not be so bad, but power steering also goes out which scares my wife to death.
