The problem first started with the rear right passenger door not locking, which happened several times. Then the problem seems to have gone to the front passenger door lock. The door would not lock using the remote, interior buttons or the key. The only way I was able to unlock the door was to use a pair of plyers.
Bought 2014 Ford Explorer in August 2013, after 11,000 miles doors starts to unlock and dome light would continually stay on, also door chimes activated, Took vehicle in to Ford dealer for about four hours. Car drove fine for about two months. Doors again started to unlock, dome light, and chimes would sound again. Took car back to dealer, they stated door actuator was sticking, spray some kind of lubricant on latch car again worked for a short time.
Have taken car back to dealer on 4-5 separate occasions, still not fixed. Now warranty is expired, dealer refuse to fix existing problems.
Will never buy a Ford vehicle again even if the last car on earth, what a piece of crap!
The driver door wouldn't unlock. I used the key in the door and was unable to turn the lock. I bent the key trying to unlock the door. Had to have a lock smith roll the window down to have access to the door handle from the inside and pull it open from there. Took it to an auto body shop and they believe the problem is the locking mechanism inside the door panel. Driver front, Passenger front and Passenger rear doors this is happening to.
