AC was blowing but air was luke warm, checked refrigerant and level was good, no leaking either. Motor was bad so had to replace that. Honestly, it's never anything simple with this car....now, a year later...we have an ac leak. (insert eyeroll)

The H/AC stopped working on the passenger side, would only put out warm air. This was during the summer with temps. in the 90's. so was not the best of times for this to happen. Cost to repair this was $756.00. This goes to the poor quality of Ford products.

Climate control worked great for approx. 5500 miles. One day, without warning, I could not turn off a/c on the passenger side. Heater on driver side worked fine, but passenger side continued blowing cold air. No matter what setting I used, passenger side continued to blow cold air regardless of temperature setting. Driver side continued to work normally.

I bought this Explorer new in 2013. In 2019 I only have about 47k miles on it. This went out last year in April with about 38k miles on it.

The air conditioner does not work properly. The dual climate doesn't work and the passenger side is stuck on the hottest level no matter what temperature I put it on.

T

he dealership, having told me they have fixed several of these, seems to know what the problem is and said it would be about $500 to fix. If this is happening so often then Ford needs to issue a recall. Luckily I live in WV and our summers aren't extremely hot. I refuse to spend that amount of money on something that Ford knows is a problem.

I was driving at night in an area where it was very dark. It was chilly and a bit foggy outside. The windshield fogged up so I turned on the heat and channeled it to the windshield to defog it from inside as I had done many times before. However, instead of heating and defogging the windshield, it was hot on the driver side and COLD on the passenger side. I had set it to "HI" heat and it worked fine-on only the driver side. The passenger side was always cold. I tried so many different settings, but nothing helped. I don't know what else to do. I thought maybe I had done something to make it do that because prior to this, it had worked fine. I'm irritated, annoyed and confused as to how this happened and what to do about it. Every other car I have is simple to use. You turn on heat and shift to defog and it works-and fast. This car-no such luck!!! What to do???

I recently had an oil change, front brakes and rotors replaced. My heater was working just fine until after I had my vehicle serviced. Now I'm being told that it will be at least $119.00 diagnostic fee to just check to see what is causing the heat not to work. Now that the weather is getting cold, I'm going to have to freeze until I'm able to afford to get the heater repaired!!!!

This car was purchased new and only serviced at a Ford dealer. It just crossed over 20,000 miles.

I noticed that the air conditioning just not cooling as it used to, so while I have the vehicle in to address some field service notices, I asked them to check my A/C.

Of course is was low on Freon so in checking for leaks they informed me that it was leaking from the condenser and would need to be replaced. In order to replace it, they would need to remove the dash. It would take about 4 hours to do and they quoted $1600 as an estimate.

How can such a low mileage car already have such an issue? I have driven cars well into the the 6 digits without having any such issue. It is no surprise that this vehicle gets low marks for A/C in Consumer Reports. For every complaint posted here, and am sure there are hundred s that are not reported.

Ford really should do the right thing and fix these issues. I would be willing to pay for parts, but labor is just too much.

Absolutely ridiculous. I will never buy another Ford...this $50,000 truck is built like crap. The door handle is coming apart, the AC blows hot on the passenger side, the spare tire rattles...tons of little things too: the leather is cheap and wearing quickly, the SYNC is quirky and sometimes does not work at all, the radio does not go low enough to pick up a station I want... ugh. But this actuator pissed me off. The car is way too new to have expensive issues. The extended warranty covered it, but I had to pay the $100 deductible. It seems to me that this is a known issue and Ford does not care.

I had bought a used 2014 ford explorer xlt flex fuel 4wd from a used car dealer in ionia, mi.

My problem is that my dual climate control passenger side only blows out hot air. No matter what temperature I set, passenger side just blows hot air even if I turn off dual model. Driver side works fine. I called the ford dealer in lowell, mi, the service man said it would cost me around $100.00 just to look at it then it would/might cost me $300.00 to over $500.00 to fix the problem, but could not get me in for a week or so & since my car only came with a 30 day warranty it will cost me $$$$$$$.

This f........ suck!

I bought this 2014 Ford explorer brand-new and drove it off the lot. Two weeks ago in April 2017 the AC stopped blowing cold air. The dealer told me they would not be able to get me in for five days and it was not covered under warranty. Mind you I live in Texas. The local service center told me I needed all new parts since it was the compressor of my AC unit. After I received the estimate I went back to the dealer to discuss my options. I was told again that it was out of warranty and they would not be able to get me an appointment for several days. Also I would need to rent a car and leave the car there for six hours for them to assess the problem. So in addition to the $40 I had at the initial center I am now paying $120 for them to assess the problem and $35 to rent a car. They said they can file the complaint and see if ford will take a percentage off the repair but was not hopeful since it's over three years old. It's a 2014 and a huge component of the AC went out costing thousands of dollars in repairs. It is very hot here in Texas and my kids are super hot. I have already taken several days off work to deal with this issue!

One side of our dual climate system is stuck on Max AC. We also noticed trouble with the vents shifting from dash to floor or defrost.

Apparently this is a known problem that Ford and their dealerships have decided to ignore. We are also experiencing exhaust fumes entering the cabin during acceleration which I will be filing as another complaint.

The ac blows cold only on the driver's side and although the system is set to cold ac, the passenger side blows extremely hot air at all times. Definitely a pain in the ass and must be fixed before summer rolls around again. Also, the air won't change to blow through the floor vents or the defrost vents, only the dash.

Update from Nov 12, 2016: The problem was a faulty blend door actuator that I had to replace with motorcraft part #YH-1779. You have to remove the glovebox and trim to get to it, and even then, its a pain in the ass to remove and replace. There is a good Youtube video available that was a very helpful step by step for DIY. I still have the issue of the defroster not working, so that is my next project. I'm very disappointed in Ford for these issues only after a couple of years of use, this is ridiculous.

passener side only blows out hot air

On my duel control ac/heat the passenger side is now only heat, and not just heat but extremely hot.

Even if you turn it to low and the AC is on the driver's side blows cold, but the passenger is burnt.

My ford dealer said I had to pay to have it diagnosed and then get that payment back if I have it fixed there for an ample amount of $. Has anyone else had this issue?
