I had to replace the fuel pump on this car when I first got it. It is ridiculous that the tank is now going bad. They really need to rethink who is making these parts for them.

Ford recalled over 465,000 Ford Explorer vehicles built in 2013, just like my car, because of a fuel leak. The recall began December 2015. I was never notified because my car was built on a month that was not recalled. However, my car does match the model of the recall. My "check engine" light came on two days ago, I take it to the Ford dealership to get it checked and was told of this gas leak, but that my car does not qualify for the recall, even though it is the same year as the recall, and I am experiencing the same problem that prompted the recall.

Long story short, the dealership is charging me $980 to fix a problem that over half a million other 2013 Ford Explorer owners got fixed for FREE! I loved Ford, for the last 30 years I have owned Ford cars, never experienced a problem like this, but I have to say that I am EXTREMELY disappointed at how Ford is letting me deal and pay out of my pocket for a problem they should be covering as part of the recall.

We can't believe that we paid for a top-of-the line Ford vehicle, only to find that it had a serious problem such as the fuel tank leaking, which under the wrong circumstances, could have resulted in serious injury to those in the vehicle.
