Bought this used Ford Explorer Feb 2017 from a local dealership (non Ford) as we liked the options and had a family member who bought a newer model. Weeks after purchasing vehicle, CBS airs a special regarding CO entering the cabins of these vehicles. Of course, you close attention especially when you have two boys under the age of 10 who ride in this vehicle and you want to protect their health. Notice slight hint of rotten egg sulfur smell when engine is under strain, going up hill, merging from on ramp and need to increase the RPM's. Noticed more so this summer with AC unit on. I am irate over Ford's inability to respond to thousands of their customers concerns and not standing behind their brand by issuing a recall of these vehicles. One could dump the vehicle off as a trade and move onto another car, but I do not want to pass this on to another family who may have kids and expose them to what is a unhealthy, odorless lethal gas. I have installed a CO detector, but wonder what small amounts of this gas could do to my family. Ford needs to step up, figure this out and take care of their customers!
