There is a gear pin in the shifting console that tells the ignition that the car is in park but the pin is missing so the keys are stuck in the ignition until I pop the shifting cover and physically push the park lever. So either I leave the keys in the vehicle and don't lock my doors or every time I get out I have to go through the process I mentioned earlier. It is a real pain and sometimes I'm in a hurry and just don't have time for it. Ive read a lot of articles saying this is a common problem with this model. Not sure why Ford has done nothing about it! Kind of ridiculous problem to have
