CarComplaints.com Notes: How can we give the 2001 model year a "seal of pretty good" when it has some problems with a slipping transmission and a known problem with the speed activation control switch? Because it's not the 2002. That's how.

The driver's side door lock no longer works. I now have to enter the truck from the passenger's side, climb over the passenger's seat and open the driver's door from the inside. This problem is not isolated; many other Explorer Sport owners are suffering from the same problem, but, this was never issued as a "recall" from Ford! Why???
