My Explorer 2000, has now 113,000 miles on it. The spark plug fouling started at about 60-70 thousand miles. I found that the first spark plug on the right side (driver side) fouled after 3-5 thousand miles of replacing. The engine would buck and act up (it only ran on 5 cylinders). After changing the plug 3 times, I explained the problem at a worker at an Auto Zone store and he recommended the Bosch #4304 no gap spark plugs ($4.00 each), I changed all of them and the problem was solved. I just changed them again and found that the plugs were in good shape. If you have the same problem you should try this fix.
