So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The windshield wipers will start on their own. When it happens, they will continue intermittently until I turn the wipers on high then turn them back off. It is extremely intermittent, sometimes going months before it will do it. Has been doing this for about a year.
PE00020, original equipment; while driving on interstate at 60 mph suddenly it felt like car lifted, and then heard a pop. When car landed, consumer lost control, car swerved, and used a cement divider to help slow the vehicle down and to keep it from rolling over. The consumer feels the accident was due to faulty Firestone wilderness xt tires and 2 people were injured. The wiper switch was replaced.
Consumer upset because the recall (00S04) letter stated that a free loaner would be provided while the repair of the jumper harness installation and wiper switch were being done, unfortunately that was not the case and the dealer stated that "if consumer wanted a loaner car he would have to pay the difference because Ford will only reimburse dealer for $25 and they cannot rent a car for that amount".
While driving in rainy weather conditions windshield wipers become inoperable. Dealer states that the problem occures due a malfunction within the module switch. Ford unable to repair problem and will not allow dealer to replace the switch.
