Was only going 5mph. Since brakes would not grab, I turned my car to far left and clipped car in front on far left bottom of bumper, creasing bumper of car in front a 2004 Toyota Camry. No damage whatsoever to my car.
I took my car to my mechanic the next day and he checked it out completely and said brakes seemed to be working fine, must be a fluke. This same thing had happened 13 years earlier but I did not hit anything, was able to turn into a curb to stop and somehow thought I made a mistake but now know I did not. I was an insurance agent (retired now) and know that if the claim is under $1000 or is not equipment failure, I would not be charged.
I reported the brake problem and the incident to my insurance company and sent the link to your website for complaints relating and frankly forgot about it. Then I got my renewal and it increased by 250%! I was livid. They ignored your complaints. They said the claim totaled $1350 and that I also it the tail light, which I was nowhere near. They charged $400 for the tail light & replacement. The pro shop is crooked but then I found out that they didn't even read your complaints. Then they did and considered it but then they said that there were not recalls so they couldn't use the complaints because of no recalls. All they want to do is pass the buck back to a retired 73 year old on a fixed income who cannot afford $1900/year in premiums and cannot get a new car because of the so called at fault accident. I have nowhere to turn. I wish someone could help me.
