bought used ford exploer since there were already 2 in the family didnt think id have any problems. at about 40000 the check engine light was flashing and took it in to the dealer so they rebuilt it. after the weekend it happend again they rebuilt it again. it took 1 day of driving to happen again took it in and it took almost a month for them to find the problem and tell me they have to buy a remanufactured transmission. the other 2 times i took it in were coverd under 100 deduct but the last one went over the coverge and cost 800 plus 100 deduct. i only owned it for 2 years but had to replace the ball joints and cv joints about 4 times a year. when the safty recall came out about the seat falling back i traded in with the ball joints out again. only got 3000 for the pos. traded in for a 2000 dodge durango slt 4.7l which is going in the same direction as the ford. the next car i buy will probably be an import since these american cars are not being reliable.
